Why do people feel the motif to change their personalities to please others? Many characters in the play Taming of the Shrew, castigate to change their personality to please other people. Of the many, three of them real show personality changes. The three are Katharine, Baptista, and Petruchio. These three invest on a mask to change their appearances.
        In the play, Petruchio precious a wife, but at the same time, he excessively cherished money. So he came up with a neat plan, he would marry a woman just to involve her money, and temperamental Katharine was a perfect victim for Petruchio.
