The 2003 award fetching drama, Monster is based on the true story of the depression female, American, serial killer, Aileen Wuornos. Wuornos was born in Michigan in the middle 1950 s and experienced a cruel childhood smashed with poverty, abuse, and drug use. In her early adolescent years she began to testify very inappropriate and promiscuous behaviors, which lead to prostitution at the early age of 13. Eventually, Wuornos moved to Florida where she started her dark career of walkway the tracks as a hitchhiking prostitute in hopes to earn decent money for food, shelter, or a drink of alcohol.
The film focuses on the nine-month period between 1989 and 1990 during which she had a passionate lesbian blood with a woman named Selby.
During this time, the film shows their whirlwind relationship of intense highs and lows, which displays the irrational number anger, and unstable self-image of Wuornos. Her love for Selby seemingly directs her towards a more optimum life where she quits prostituting and attempts to find a regular day job. Her lack of education and disheveled physique does not take on her to land a regular job and the tensions begin to dissolve high in her relationship with Selby, which in turn, leads her back to the highway to prostitute. Shortly after starting back at her erstwhile(a) career, a client takes her to the woods where he rapes, tortures, and attempts to kill her. Wuornos reaches for a gun in the mans car and kills him, although this counterbalance killing can be categorized as self-defense. Wuornoss hate for the men who pay her for sex eventually becomes so organic that she begins killing her customers regardless of their behavior.
