ABSTRACT
fiscal management is that managerial activity which is concerned with the proviso and coercive of the firms financial resources. Its therefore measurable for financial institutions to have good financial management practices in parade to register good returns and improvement in performances.

The routine of the study is to analyse the financial management practices applied in organization, mainly in banks and the effects they may have on performances.
The study bequeath be guided by trey research questions and will examine their relationships with the performance of the bank. The data will be analyzed using statistical package for mixer sciences (SPSS) and the results presented in form of tables, charts and graphs, thereafter recommendations will be do on the study.

The study will be focused on the National bank of Kenya, Mombasa single out.

1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
This study seeks to analyze financial management practices and how it affects the performance of the banking firms basing the research on the National Bank of Kenya.

Financial management is that managerial activity which is concerned with the planning and controlling of the firms financial resources. It was a branch of economics till 1890, and as a separate discipline, it is of new-fangled origin. Still it has no unique body of knowledge of its testify and draws heavily on economics for its theoretical concepts even today. (IM Pandey 2008).
