British in India

Many nations around the world have been colonized or ruled by other dominant countries in the past. sometimes these rules or liquidations have been beneficial toward the society in inquiry but sometimes they have been disadvantageous for the society. India was colonized by the British in 1857. The British arrived at India with good intentions of back up India in order to make it a more unchangeable place. These intentions, however, were surpassed by the British intentions to promote themselves. Their main priority morphed from onerous to help the Indians to helping themselves. Because of this, India suffered harsh treatment from the British. The British colonization of India was detrimental towards India because Indians did not have a secern in the government and Indias economy was damaged. One effect of British rule was that the Indians did not have much of a say in their own government. This was harmful for the Indians because the British had the freedom to ignite laws which were injurious to them. The Indians were denied rights and they could not do anything about it because their voices were not considered politically. The British intentionally held the civil service examen (which was used to select people worthy for government positions) in London, which was a place far out of reach for many poor but qualified Indians. Because the Indians were not represented in the government, their living conditions worsened and they had to pay many large taxes. some other effect of the British rule was that Indias economy as a whole was diminished because of many factors.
